Thomas Brown joined the group in November 2015. Previously he worked with Carlos Moreno at Thames River Capital where he was Fund Manager on the Pan-European equities team. Prior to joining Miton, Thomas worked at Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management (UK) where he co-managed the European Value & Momentum Fund from April 2014 until November 2015. Thomas also worked for the British Steel Pension Fund for seven years and has held other investment positions including with Scoggin Capital.
Nick Ford joined the group in December 2012. Prior to this, he was the Investment Director on the US and Global Desk at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership. Nick has over 20 years of experience in managing equity funds. His previous roles include co-manager of the Gartmore US Smaller Companies fund, manager of the US Unit Trusts for Sun Alliance and Clerical Medical, as well as working as a member of the small cap team at F&C Asset Management. Nick graduated from the University of Surrey.
Nick Greenwood joined the group in 2002 (which was known as iimia at that time). He began his career in private client stock broking during the late 1970s. Nick was a founder member of Christows stockbroking operation in 1991. He joined the Christows Investment Trust team setting up their London office in 1995 and became lead manager in November 1997. Nick subsequently joined Miton Group Plc. The LF Miton Worldwide Opportunities Fund was launched in April 2003 and was followed by the Miton Worldwide Growth Trust in 2004.
Hugh Grieves joined the group in January 2013. Prior to this, he worked for Herald Investment where he was responsible for managing the Herald Worldwide Fund. From 2000-2008 he co-managed the technology funds at Societe Generale Asset Management Ltd with Alan Torry and managed the funds from 2008-2009. Prior to that Hugh worked from 1995-2000 in the US smaller companies team at Gartmore. Hugh graduated from Bristol University with a degree in Economics and is a CFA charterholder.
Andrew Jackson joined the group in June 2016 and became manager of the LF Miton UK Value Opportunities Fund on 1 July 2016. Prior to this, Andrew worked at Ecclesiastical Investment Management where he was fund manager of the Ecclesiastical UK Equity Growth Fund from November 2003 until July 2015 and was awarded the Investment Week UK Equity Growth Manager of the Year award in 2014. During his career he has been responsible for UK and Irish equity investments at Canada Life, managed the specialist UK Small Cap Funds for Lloyds Investment Managers (later Hill Samuel Asset Management) and helped to set up the Smaller Companies Desk at SG Asset Management.
Eric Moore joined the group in July 2013. Prior to this, Eric was a member of the PSigma Income team from May 2010. He began his career at Gartmore where he spent 10 years in a variety of roles, including co-managing the Gartmore UK Growth Fund. In 2005, he moved to Insight Investment as Director of UK Equities where he was responsible for co-managing a combined £5bn of institutional and retail money. Eric holds an MA (Hons.) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics, from Trinity College, Oxford and an MSc (Hons.) in Cognitive Science, from the University of Edinburgh. Eric is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.
Carlos Moreno joined the group in August 2015. He was previously Fund Manager at JO Hambro Capital Management Group where he managed the JO Hambro All Europe Dynamic Growth Fund from March 2011 until January 2015. Prior to this, he worked as Portfolio Manager at Thames River Capital Management managing the Thames River European Dynamic Growth Fund. Carlos started his career at Fidelity Worldwide Investments.
Martin Turner joined the group in May 2011. Martin's career in the City began in 1992 with Arthur Andersen where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He moved to Rothschild and in time on to Head of Pan European Mid and Small Cap Sales at Merrill Lynch. Following this, Martin was Head of Sales at Teathers/Landsbanki before taking the Head of Small/Mid Cap Equities role covering research, sales and trading at Collins Stewart. Martin graduated from Warwick University with a degree in Accounting and Financial Analysis.
Gervais Williams joined the group in 2011. He is Head of Equities at Premier Miton Investors and manages a number of funds and trusts that aggregate to over £1.5bn. His fund management career extends over 30 years including 17 years at Gartmore Group Ltd, where he was Head of UK Small Companies investing in UK smaller companies and Irish equities. Gervais is a member of the AIM Advisory Council, and a board member of the Quoted Companies Alliance and The Investment Association. He was a member of the Patient Capital Review panel with the Chancellor of the Exchequer two years ago where the recommendations were put into legislation in the subsequent budget. Gervais Williams has published three books, 'Slow Finance' in the autumn of 2011 (Bloomsbury), 'The Future is Small' published in November 2014 (Harriman House) and 'The Retreat of Globalisation' published in December 2016 (Harriman House).
Jim Wright joined the group in January 2017. He was most recently at the British Steel Pension Fund. There he was the sole manager of its global listed infrastructure portfolio - the Global Duration Equity Portfolio - from its inception in October 2006 to the time of his announced resignation in October 2016. This portfolio represented over 95% of the Fund’s allocation to infrastructure and its success was recognised with a nomination for “Best Use of Infrastructure” at the 2016 Institutional Investor UK & Ireland Awards. He is also a qualified chartered accountant.
Charlotte joined the group in 2015 and joined the Investment Trust team in December 2017. She is focused on analysing trusts, marketing and assisting Nick in the management of the funds. Charlotte holds a BA in Modern History from St Anne’s College, Oxford.
